So what’s in it for your gut?
This gut healing green smoothie is full of Chia seeds, apples, spinach and antioxidant rich blueberries.
– Chia are full of iron and also absorb water and expand to coat your stomach lining and protect it from bad bacteria.
– Spinach is a leafy green full of calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and a source of fibre. It helps to prevent constipation and promote a healthy digestive tract
– Apples are high in fibre and are great to eat first thing on a morning to start your digestion and metabolism. There have also been studies to show apples have a good effect on the healthy bacteria in your digestive system
– Blueberries are high in Vitamin C and fiber. They not only work from the inside to inprove your skin, they also work to remove toxins from your body, prevent constipation, and promote a regular and healthy digestive system
Gut Healing green smoothie
1 tbsp Chia seeds
1 handful/ cup of Spinach
1/2 Apple (core removed)
1 handful/cup of Blueberries
1 scoop plant protein powder (of your choice)
100 ml (approx) Almond milk (or plant milk of your choice)
1 tsp organic honey (optional – sweeten to taste)
Add the dry ingredients to your blender add the almond milk and blend until smooth.
Depending on your blender and the thickness of your protein powder you may need to add a splash of water to the mix as you go.
The thickness of your smoothie is up to you 🙂
Once all ingredients are combined, add the honey and blend again for a minute.
Pour and enjoy!
