Healing IBS | Tips & simple natural ways to reduce flare ups & increase gut health

Digestive issues and in particular IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) can have a huge impact on your day to day life. It can also be a huge and unwelcome hindrance! It can effect what you eat and how you feel. IBS is something i have suffered with myself for a long time now (before I became chronically ill), but my illness can sometimes aggrivate or make my stomach issues worse. Through a lot of research, and process of elimination throughout the years I have learnt what I am sensitive to, what triggers a flare up, and what to avoid to keep my stomach and gut as happy and healthy as possible.…

    The Spring Eqinox & Supermoon | 2019

Happy Spring Equinox to you! Today marks the vernal equinox, which occurs at exactly 21:58 GMT this evening. The day when day and night are almost equal in length. In the Northern hemisphere this marks the first day of Spring, and the journey back towards the sun. From now until midsummer the days will be longer and lighter, the temperature will (hopefully) get hotter, and the land will turn green as things begin to grow and flourish again. In the Southern Hemisphere it will of course be the opposite, as they move towards the darker winter months – another lovely example of the beautiful balance in nature. Today also marks…

Using CBD oil for pain relief ( + it’s other healing benefits)

I have been using cbd myself for nearly a year now. CBD oil has been pretty big in the news lately and it has become a bit of a ‘thing’ in health & wellness too. While it may be a trend for some, cbd oil is something I have found to help greatly with many of the symptoms of my chronic illness. Most notably muscle and joint pain. I suffer from M.E and Fibromyalgia. In this post I’m going to cover my own experience with cbd, how to start taking it, and all of the health benefits of cbd oil. What is CBD oil? CBD is an oil made from…

The Superpowers of green tea | Green teas many benefits

Anyone who has tried Green tea will tell you it’s an acquired taste, but one that you can grow to love… and I can attest to that personally! I can also tell you that Green teas many benefits are worth its slight bitter taste. There are many different brands of green tea, so if it is something you struggle to enjoy I would suggest maybe experimenting with different varieties to start until you find one that suits you. Try going for one that is described as ‘light’, as these tend to have a less strong green taste! I drink Green tea every day, at least two cups, as part of…

Herbs for fighting seasonal blues | SAD

As it’s nearing the winter solstice – the shortest day of the year (in the northern hemisphere at least), it’s just four days away as I write this, it seemed like an appropriate time to cover Seasonal Affective Disorder (or SAD). These are all the herbs for fighting seasonal blues that you can use daily throughout the winter season. What are the symptoms of seasonal affective disorder? Staying grounded | How I work to stay grounded

If you don’t check in with yourself and how you’re feeling on a regular basis it’s easy to get lost in our busy lives and everything going on. Staying grounded is especially important if you are a sensitive person that picks up on others emotions and energies, and the environment around you. For myself, as a creative person and constant over thinker, it’s easy to get lost daydreaming, lost in my thoughts, instead of being present and in my body. Loosing the connection with your physical body means you start to lose touch with your gut instincts, your intuition, your digestive system and nervous system. You can become numb to…
