About

Hi, I am Emily, nature lover and wanderer. Welcome to my blog!

Amongst the many things that I am, I am living with a chronic illness. Something I was diagnosed with over 5 years ago, and at the time completely turned my world upside down. In no way want this blog to be about my illness, but through the journey of rebuilding my life and learning what helps and nourishes my body (and soul), I have learnt a few things about natural remedies and holistic healing that I’d like to share in the hope that they will help you too.

I am fully aware that everyone is different and different things work for different body types, and please don’t just mindlessly follow what I say(!) You know your body better than anyone else.. But if they have helped me, they may help someone else too, and that’s all I can hope for. If like me, you have been suffering in some way then you are probably willing to try anything that may help. Am I right?

For me that has been natural and plant based healing, homeopathy, aromatherapy, and more ancient practices like meditation and yoga. I am learning all I can about these practices and how plants can help us heal. Nature is a magical thing! My journey has also prompted me to take courses in Natural Medicine and Nutrition for healing so I am still learning new things all the time!

I hope you enjoy reading, and I would love to hear your thoughts or any suggestions on other things you’d like to read.

All the Love,

Emily x

I spent a magical summer in Harrogate when I was 17 years old and have fond memories of walking through leafy paths and beautiful meadows.

I became an artist who used photographs to make images of man-made botanical environments.

I now live in California and make my living as a garden designer. Three years ago I went through a very serious illness that was never diagnosed (but had aspects of fibromyalgia) that stopped my life cold. I healed myself with diet and herbal medicine, as the doctors had nothing to offer.

Wow, it sounds like you’ve had quite a wonderful journey with lots of memories to look back on! Thank you for sharing 🙂
I travelled round the USA for 3 months when I was younger and visited a few places in California. I loved it out there – I’m definitely a sun worshipper. You are very lucky!

I’ve had a similar experience with Dr’s unfortunately. It’s so sad that modern medicine doesn’t even look at a patients diet (trainee Dr’s aren’t even taught about food!), or the cause of their symptoms at all, purely how to treat symptoms. Which doesn’t solve the problem at all! I’m glad to hear you found your own way to healing. and isn’t it just that little bit more satisfying when you do it all by yourself? 🙂
Do you mind sharing if I ask you how you healed, and what you used/took? Always interested in hearing someone else’s story x
